Ride the hills of Kaiteriteri

Check it out!

Ride the hills of KaiteriteriAre you into mountainbiking but are sick of riding the same old trails. Well read on and see what is happening down at Kaiteriteri.

The Kaiteriteri Mountainbike Park consists of over 180ha of regenerating native bush and mature pines. It has recently been designated as Recreational Reserve and is now administered by the Kaiteriteri Recreational Reserve Board. The park is being developed as a recreational mountainbiking venue open year-round for riders of moderate fitness and ability.
The track network is being created in a staged process. The first stage, which has just been finished, comprises a series of linked tracks that connect the MTB Park base at the Trailer Park with an accessway beside Bethany Park.
The second stage consists of a higher elevation track that, by following contours, will cross several existing firebreaks, thus increasing riding options. It is scheduled for completion in 2010.
All of the newly created trails are wide, intermediate-grade tracks, designed for two-way use. So why not get down there this holiday and check out the trails – they are free to use and fun for all skill levels.
