World Record Haka – Ka mate
11 September 2010
The Top of the South wants to shatter the Guinness World Record for largest haka, currently set at 3,264, to celebrate One Year to Go until RWC 2011 comes to Nelson. WHO: all the communities of Te Tau Ihu (Top of the South) - anyone who wants to participate can do the haka, male or female as both versions will be performed simultaneously on the day.

Port Nelson Haven Ahoy Exhibition
4 October 2010 (start date)
10.00am – 5.00pm daily, Nelson Provincial Museum – Pupuri Taonga o Te Tai Ao, Town Acre 445, Cnr Trafalgar & Hardy Streets, Nelson
In December 1841 the Clifford left from England bound for Nelson, arriving in May of 1842. We know a lot about the voyage because we have a diary from the Gapper Family and the logbook of the ship’s doctor Thomas Hughes.
The exhibition will be laid out like the inside of a sailing ship with opportunities for hands-on experiences as well.
